Recently I was in the market, standing in the checkout line when I over heard two women discussing a recent rash of drug related crimes. One of them whispered off handily to the other," I wonder what color they are". Somehow I felt they were insinuating the perpetrators had to be black. I might have been angry had I not  thought the same thing about another case just weeks earlier.
 
How many times have you watched the news, heard of some horrific headlines, and thought to yourself "that sounds like somebody black" or "that definitely has to be a white person"? Honestly, I've caught myself thinking it on occasion. But the truth of the matter is, as we all know, crime (sin) comes in all colors;  and stereotyping  a whole race of people, based on certain activities, is a form of bigotry. Not only is it wrong,  but you feel absolutely foolish  once you discover your assumptions were WRONG!
