In light of the recent Eddie long scandal, where four young men accused the bishop of coercing them [as teens] into sexual relationships, many have been forced to address the repeated occurence of clergy "misuse and abuse".
The Bishop Eddie Long sex scandal has caused The Preacher Bureau of Investigations to launch a new radio talk thow for exploited church members. The radio talk show will allow exploited church members to call in and discuss the questionable activities of church leadership. it is the only Radio Show dedicated to holding preachers, pastors, and priests accountable for their actions.
Churches are also beginning to expand background checks on clergymen and church staff.
As horrific as the Long scandal is, one of our readers pointed out, Eddie Long was first exposed four years ago. But he is by far not the first TV evangelist to be accused of sexual impropriety. There are way too many to list in this blog. But I thought I would research a few cases that were recently mentioned by this site's users.
Catholic Priest Abuse The world watched in horror as many sexual abuse surviros came forth to offer testamonies of molestations by Catholic Priest. It is now know that over 10,000 Catholic priests , from 1952 to 2002, were accused of child sexual abuse. And a case study was released this week, stating that in Chicago alone, over 60 percent of the parishes have been headed by priests who had previously been accused of sex abuse.
Bishop TD Jakes TD Jake's , often called the next Billy Graham, was accused by former male member Richard Youngblood last year, of " attempting to draw other men into homosexual conduct with him." Youngblood recounts parts of his ordeal in the following paragraph:
"While Bishop Jakes was not successful in his attempt to have sex with me, he did everything he could to try to convince me. After seeing that I would not fall for his tactic, he said something to me that to this day still reverberates in my ear…”sometimes too much light hurts the eyes.” At first I had no idea what he meant. Then later understood that he was saying to me that he had revealed too much of himself to me. DUH!!! What an understatement from such an articulate man. This is where my personal warfare began. Questions began to surface in my head like…”what kind of sign was I giving off that made him think he could approach me?” Then the warfare took on a feeling that I felt a need to prove my manhood. I began to have sex with as many women as would allow me to satisfy my lust to prove my manhood. All the while protecting his”too much light.” The saddest part to this warfare is that because of the information that I had, Bishop was afraid that I would use it against him so he began to forecast me as a trouble maker and a liar. All of the mutual friend [sic] that we had received phone calls and were told not to invite me to speak at their events. Obviously because of his reputation, he was believed and I was not. He even sowed seed [sic] in my home between my wife and I by telling her that I was no longer welcomed to the church but that she could continue coming. That marriage eventually ended in divorce.”
TBN's Paul Croch According to Lonnie Ford, an admittedly troubled, sometime drug addict who worked for the station, it was also the site of an inappropriate, and potentially scandalous, sexual encounter between himself and TBN's president and founder, Paul Crouch.
For eight years, TBN managed to keep the story under wraps, persuading courts to keep the relevant documents sealed and threatening Ford with legal action if he tried to break the terms of a 1998 settlement and seek a publisher for his manuscript.
Crouch denied everything, however TBN acknowledged it had agreed to a financial settlement with Ford - the Times put the figure at US$425,000 ($641,000) - rather than go to court to fight his twin allegations of sexual harassment and wrongful termination. Read full story here
Creflo Dollar
Then there is the matter of one Crefclo Dollar ( real name Michael Smith). His entire ministry is built on financial and health prosperity. One of his favorite sayings is "You can't be a Christian and not be wealthy".
Evelyn Williamson, who joined the church in 1993, said she was instructed during a class for new members to turn over her financial records. She refused. When the power to her home was turned off, Williamson said, she called the church for financial assistance.”
She said a church minister refused her request and told her that if she had turned over her finances to God she wouldn't need help. Williamson said she left the church after four months when church members refused to answer her calls”(source-Atlanta Journal –Constitution).
Demetrius King of College Park…, joined the church in 1991. He said he left two years later after Dollar humiliated him. During a Sunday morning service, Dollar asked church members who tithed to stand. King remained seated.
“King said Dollar pointed to him and the others who were seated and said they were blocking the blessings of the church.
Take a look a the following Creflo Dollar video sent in by one of our users. Dollar's explanation of "non-tithers deserving to be shot", is just one example of how false prophecy and false doctrine has run amuck in the world ([Rev. 3:14-20).

I want to end by saying I am by no means pushing or promoting any denomination. I am however pushing for better awareness of False Prophets/Prophecy and those who prey on unsuspecting and trusting flock. I'm including The Seven Signs of False Prophecy as explained by William F. Dankenbring .
Those who are interested may contact me for a pdf of this information.
Lastly people, the Bible instructs each of us to "study for ourselves (II Timothy 2:15) so that we will not be deceived. If you haven't been able to do so up to this point, with the condition the world is in, I think "now" would be a pretty good time to start. The Seven Signs of a False Prophet
