Here we are again. It's the time of season for cap and gowns, graduations, and jubilant
valedictorian speeches, which encourage fellow classmates to go out into the wide blue yonder, slay dragons, and pursue dreams.
Thinking back, it wasn't too long ago that I was ready to conquer the world. I had it all planned...I would move to California with my aunt, become a recording artist, and marry NBA great Kareem Abdul Jabbar (lol). Well, several failed singing groups, and one not-so-popular studio recording, later, my life is not as glamorous as I'd hoped. I wound up graduating in computer science, and my earlier expectations have given away to the most important job I can think of...motherhood. I'm married to a minister, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar is still single (lol). In addition, I've authored several sites which have caught the eye of a few pretty big-named people. So although things have not exactly gone the way I had intended, my life is good. However, there is still one seriously unfulfilled dream I do have; and that is to complete a book, publish it, and have it minister to the multitudes (I'll keep you posted on the progress).
This season of new beginnings have prompted me to, not only rethink my own goals, but to ask how many of you out there have stayed focused and achieved the goals you originally set for yourselves? Share your progress, delays, or sidetracks with us. And by the way, it's never too late to pursue your
God-given talents and dreams.
