I was born in the late 60s and grew up in Montgomery AL. Contrary to the negative stereotype the south has incurred, it was not a bad experience for me. As a matter of fact, living in the south for an African-American lately, is no different from living anywhere else; you'll meet people of all different ethnicities who are kind and generous no matter what color you are. And, as anywhere else, you'll find those who're not as enthusiastic but will still co-exist with you peacefully.
I always tell people that life is what you make it! Change what you can change but accept what you cannot! I never really was able to find peace with that concept until I understood the following text: ALL things work for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
I've always had a desire to help people. Among the many organizations, websites, and ministries I've operated/participated in, I've served as director of a women's group which focused on helping women achieve their purpose in life through Christ. I've also operated as head, of a prison ministry for women, which seeks to assist women in finding the right path in life. Lastly, I'm involved in setting up a new website that serves as an anonymous place where people, who are seeking solutions or words of advice from a Christian perspective, can interact. It's respectfully called Yolanda Ro Speaks Life. So drop in and leave a comment or two
